- When Heisenberg's twins were born in 1938, physicist Wolfgang Pauli congratulated him on his "pair creation," a pun on a process in particle physics.[1]
- Walter White, the chemistry teacher turned drug kingpin in Breaking Bad, uses Heisenberg's surname as his alias.[1]
- After Hitler took power, Heisenberg was attacked in the press as a "White Jew." Heinrich Himmler, whose father had been in a Bavarian hiking club with Heisenberg's grandfather, settled the affair.[1]
